Controlled Opening Skylights pioneered by Rollamatic Roofs...

Rollamatic Roofs Inc. is the original designer and manufacturer of controlled, automatic, and retractable skylights. We have been installing retractable skylights for 43 years in both residential and commercial applications around the world. Rollamatic Roofs Inc. patented its controlled opening skylights in 1958. Since then we have been refining both the construction of the skylight and its application to energy saving building design.

Rollamatic Roofs Inc. provide an easy operating system that can be selectively opened to any desired width; from a fraction of an inch to the roof's full capacity opening. This exclusive precision control makes the accurate analysis of environmental control designs possible.

The operating sections of Rollamatic Roofs use direct drive power which are precisely controllable and maintenance free. This feature eliminates the operational problems characteristic of chain, rack and pinion, or cable drive mechanisms. Glazed with 1/4" tempered glass, this sliding over stationary skylight brings light and air into the center of the home. Gentle air currents are maintained year-round using precise controls.

On the average,
Rollamatic Roofs involve only a 5% premium over stationary skylights and can provide energy saving benefits well in excess of this modest investment. Rollamatic Roofs are custom built in any configuration desired, using a variety of framing materials. Clear spans exceeding 200 feet have been engineered. All transparent and translucent glazing materials, including insulating types are available.

Retractable skylights are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sound choices when considering any type of skylight system. Most importantly, they are used as life savig device by efficiently removing unwanted fumes, whether it be chlorine or noxious smoke.
