Gastropods are the most successful group of molluscs not only not only becouse of their dense population, but becouse they can be found practically everywere. Aquatic types have become adapted to living on almost everything. Others have successfully over-run all types of freshwater habitat as well as the land.
  The head is usually well developed, bearing eyes and tentacles, and the foot is flattened. The shell is usually sprils but is not always perfectly made .
