The sponsor of SB1471 is Senator Cirillo from District 15. The bill has not been shot down, it passed the senate judiciary committee by six ayes to two nays. The bill is currently waiting to be placed on the agenda for the senate family services committee, which will probably occur next week. According to the Administrative Office of the Courts, there have been no cases involving the statutes, that SB1471 exists to repeal, in the past two years. The Phoenix City Prosecutor's office states that one case, citing lewd and lascivious acts, was brought to court in 1992.
This bill has no fiscal impact to the states general fund.
