ASH President Mike Ross allowed Mr G Staples to get
Bill Austin of AZTEC to setup this web page for ASH.
<p>
Mr Staples then created ASH a nice web site at AZTEC.
<p>
We suspect that Paul Putz and Linda Chapman lied to
Bill Austin about the site and got him to remove it.
Linda Chapman is not an ASH officer although she claims
to be. Linda Chapman was an ASH officer in the prior year
but she was soundly defeated and came in last place
in her attempt to earn
another year on the board.

I handle the web pages on AzTeC. There are a couple of issues. If you are
a 501(c)(3) I do not need to get Board of Directors approval. AzTeC does
not do domain name hosting and there would be no access to the cgi-bin
area. Otherwise the information is below.
<p>
If you really need or want a domain name and cgi-access, I can provide that
at a very nominal cost for non-profits. I do that as a separate endeavor
from AzTeC.

Subject: Free Web Space for Arizona Non-Profits
<p>
AzTeC Computing, The Arizona Free-Net, provides free web page
space for qualified Arizona-based non-profit organizations.
Some of the organizations currently hosted on AzTeC are The
Phoenix Zoo, United Blood Services, Arizona Families On-Line,
Easter Seals, Arizona Consortium For Computer Education, The
Alzheimers Association, and the Phoenix Chapter of IEEE.

These sites can be viewed at http://aztec.asu.edu/ on the web.
For questions about AzTeC call 965-4156 or dial directly at
965-6699. You can also telnet there by using telnet aztec2.asu.edu
Requests for non-profit web space should be directed to Bill
Austin via e-mail austin@aztec.asu.edu or at (602)838-5951.

Details follow:

If you have an IRS 501(c)(3), I can set you up without Board of Directors
approval.
<p>
The first step would be for someone in your organization to obtain an
account (free) on the AzTeC Free-net. There are two ways to get there.
(Actually if you are not in area code 602 there are other ways to get
there but you should telnet there first and read what the current ways
are. Tucson, Yuma, Prescott, Flagstaff, nd many other places have
access points.)

You can dial direct via (602) 965-6699 9600 - 8 - N - 1 or
(602) 965-4151 2400 - 8 - N - 1
<p>
Helpdesk number is 965-4156 if you have trouble.
<p>
The other method is via telnet
<p>
telnet aztec2.asu.edu
<p>
either way, login as user guest with password visitor, go to the
main menu, item 1 and sign yourself up for an account. Print the
form and sign it. Fax or mail it to ASU. When you get your account
confirmed send me two things.

1. Your account id (user name)
<p>
2. Ideas of what you would like your web address to be.
it will be of the form
<p>
http://aztec.asu.edu/<directory-name>
<p>
Where <directory-name> is the subdirectory your files will be store in
under the /www directory on AzTeC.
<p>
For example, if <directory-name> == cats your web address would be:

http://aztec.asu.edu/cats/
<p>
and your files would be stored in the directory
<p>
/www/cats/
