I'll Be Home for Christmas
Kim Gannon, Walter Kent (c) 1943

I'll be home for Christmas;
You can count on me.
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree.
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love-light gleams.
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.
                      GOING HOME

I'm going home for Christmas, to that lovely place aglow
With a special magic splendor I've always treasured so.

I'm going home for Christmas, where love waits at the door
And my heart is ever welcome to share happiness in store.

I'm going home for Christmas, across the sparkling snow,
To hear stories, bells and carols and bask in candleglow.

I'm going home for Christmas to help trim the Christmas tree
And give gifts to all my loved ones who mean so much to me.

I'm going home for Christmas because I love it there;
Its open arms envelop me with blessings I may share.

--Laverne P. Larson
Oh, there's no place
Like home for the holidays
'Cause no matter
How far away you roam
When you pine
For the sunshine
Of a friendly gaze
For the holidays,
You can't beat home,
Sweet home

I met a man
Who lives in Tennessee
And he was heading
For Pennsylvania and
Some homemade pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania
Folks are trav'ling down
To Dixie's sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific,
Gee, the traffic is terrific
