Welcome to my Page !
Despite surgery and extensive rehabilitation for repair of compound fractures in two fingers of his right hand, Don Roth has returned to his true love... The Piano.  I have seen Don play in various venues; shows like "Anything Goes", "Cinderella", "Hello Dolly" and "Oliver" are  just a few.  Cool jazz trios to playing the Classics, as well as in classic rock bands.  Intimate coffee houses and dark smoky blues clubs show that Don has found his true voice... The Blues !

My CD is finished and released.
On June 28th a release party was held.

Fourteen of Buffalo's finest musicians stopped by to sit in.
Just the Piano and myself.
Solo blues, a labor of love , both for the Blues, and the Piano.
Dedicated to my parents and my son, the former made it possible, the latter makes it necessary.

Two of Buffalo's Music Legends, Capt. Carl LaRue on keys and Juke Box Scales on sax.  It was a real treat to have these guys at the party.  Both men in thier late 70's.  They did not show up until Midnight after a previoius gig.
There were so many musicians there.  Most were from different projects I had been involved with, and they had never played together before.  Some interesting combinations evolved as the night wore on.  We played from 8 PM until 2 AM.

The night began with one set of solo piano.  Many of the songs on the CD were included in that set along with  new material.

Our Blessed Lady of the Blues smiled on us that night!!!!
First up , from left to right behind me; is Jack Lawson, from "Barbed Wired Blues". Dave Haynes from "Sons of Mercury"
Jim Joezens from "Blues Kings".  I had played together with all before, but this was the first time they shared a bandstand.
We were then joined by Barb Usiak from "Barbed Wired Blues".  One of the few, but special, times we haved shared a stage.  Barb  and I used to do a piano / vocal gig.  An amazing singer with a very powerful voice.  Much like Etta James or Koko Taylor !
Next there were Tim Gettings on bass, from "Haynes & Perry",  My good friend John Perry, who also recorded and produced the CD.  And Jack Lawson.  They did an awesome set of the blues in a trio setting.
Harmonic Dean was also there, from "the Blue Lights Band".  Seen here with my friend  D.J. form Florida.  Aling with Juke Box Scales.  Also there, but unfortunately no pictures are available yet.  George Mort and John Blazck form the "Double Down Blues Band" The Stepper From the "Blue Lights Band" and "Big" Ed from Niagara Falls.
