Southern Africa Stamps and Postal History

WELCOME

Hi and greetings from Denver, CO.

I collect all sorts of stamp related items from Southern Africa where I grew up.

This website started as just containing my wantlist in an attempt to complete some of my collections. But I have had a few requests to also trade material. So there is now also a section that lists my duplicates (Not worth looking at just yet - Sorry). I was also asked what FFC lists I use. Thanks to the SA Aero Phil Club for the start of that list. I am also working on creating lists and scans for all Homelands materials including Date Stamp Cards, Airletters/Aerogrammes, Postal Cards, and Revenues.

My Wants Lists contain items from:
1. South Africa,
2. Former South African Colonies of Cape of Good Hope,
    Natal, Orange River Colony and Transvaal,
3. Namibia,
4. South West Africa, and
5. Homelands of Bophuthatswana, Ciskei, Transkei and Venda.

Another key I use throughout:
mh = mint hinged
mnh = mint never hinged
used = genuinely used
Revenue Cancel = fiscally used (used as Revenue) instead of postally used

I have listed everything that I would "love" to have in my collection. But that doesn't mean I can afford to get everything on this list. Especially with the uncertain job market at the moment. The items I consider more expensive and out of my reach have parens "( ....)" around them.

NEW ADDITION .... I am building a new site in an attempt to document the known Postal Stationary of the South African Homelands. As this site is built, it will contain illustrations of all the items listed as well. If you have anything that is not listed here, PLEASE contact me (especially if you are willing to sell it to me).
I will be building it in the following order: Airletters / Aerogrammes; Postal Cards; Registered Envelopes; Airmail Labels; Unofficial/Private Maximum Cards, Date Stamp Cards and Special Event Covers.
