| Announcing the upcoming 2002 EDSOR Peace Conference to be held in Poveda Learning Centre on November 15 and 16 |
| What would the next EDSOR Peace Conference logo look like? Who would be the one to create the logo that will stand out from the rest? |
| The theme for this year's EDSOR camp is "Peace by Piece", thought of by the Student Council of Poveda. Explanation: "It emphasizes on how we should start with ourselves. One by one we will work on planting peace in our hearts. And during this EDSOR Peace Conference we will develop and share it with one another through creative workshops and a variety show, which is a product of the joint efforts of the schools participating in the conference. Every heart, every person, every piece; makes all the difference. All together, we will form the big picture of peace." |
| Poveda Learning Centre will host the 3rd EDSOR Peace Conference on November 15 and 16, 2002 with the theme "PEACE BY PIECE". The objectives of the conference this year are: 1. to keep the spirit of EDSA I & II alive among the studentry - the spirit of love for country, democracy and freedom 2. to explore issues and problems of conflict and violence, as well as conceptions and possible strategies for PEACE through workshops. 3. to contribute to the better awareness of the root causes of conflicts, violence, and absence of peace at the global, national, regional, community and interpersonal and personal levels and 4. to create plans of action that will cultivate values and attitudes which will encourage individual and social action for building more peaceful self, families, schools and ultimately, a peaceful world. The program of activities is designed to help participants realize that unity, leadership and cooperation are very important factors in developing a peaceful community. |
