This Site is dedicated to learning and sharing the history and genealogy of Daniel and Hannah Candler & family lived at South River Settlement -- present-day Lynchburg, VA.
...And to Governor Allen D. Candler of Georgia (1834-1910), the first and foremost American Candler researcher. Whereas Gov. Candler offered his research as theory, the intervening multitude has "set it in stone." This is a great discredit to Gov. Candler's original work. It has become my ambition to set the record straight.
