Tom Phelps

Height:  5'10

Weight:  162

Tom Phelps is one of the Hobart Sandlot Football League's  founding fathers.  He has played in each of the league's five seasons.  The best way to describe Tom is, he's like a fine wine, he get's better with age.  He has improved his skills greatly from year to year.  He started his career as a quarterback, but later switched to more of a full back role.  Phelps made it to the big time with his trademark "little things"  short dump passes to eat up yardage.  Phelps took a tremendous beating from little things, but he loved it.  Many feared that Phelps's career was taking a turn for the worst as he gradually got more and more out of shape and his production declined.  He sat out the majority of the 2000 season due to personal issues, but has since come back with a flourish to start the 2001 campaign.  He has established himself as a top flight receiver/kick returner and is currently the most athletic he's ever been.  Phelps has also developed a reputation as one of the cockiest players in the league.  He is finally playing with confidence, believing he is one of the best in the game, and if you don't believe him, just ask him for yourself, and he'll tell you.  Now a veteran, Phelps combines great football knowledge with new found confidence and ability making him one of the league's most dangerous players.
