Kevin is the English form of Caémgen (pronounced keev-een) (also Caoimhínn, or Caoimheán, or Caomhghin), an Irish Gaelic form of Coemgen, an Old Irish name. Originally it meant “Born Handsome,” from “caomh” (comely, loved) and “an” (little, child).

History:
Kevin was the name of an early Irish saint, St. Kevin, the patron saint of Dublin.
