Adelina

Etymology:
Adelina comes from Adeline, a diminutive for Adelaide. Adelaide is the French form of an old Germanic name, Adalheidis, or Adelheit. It originally meant “Noble” from “athel” (noble) and “haidu” (kind, sort, type).

History:
Adelina (as the Latin form of Adeline) was introduced to England by the Normans after they invaded in 1066. It was fairly common during the Middle Ages. By the 1650s, however, it had become quite rare.

Adelina was revived in the 19th century, after Adeline and Adelaide.
