Copyright Information

The photos shown on this site are not in the public domain. Any use of the photographs on this website - including downloading, reproduction, modification, distribution, republication, printing or selling - is prohibited without my prior written consent. If you want to use any of the pics please read the "Usage Guidelines" below.

I don't have the copyright for any of the maps you can find on my site. To the best of my knowledge, all of them are in the public domain (please contact me if I'm wrong on that). I modified them to show the locations where the photos were taken.

The Corto Maltese comic strip drawing by Hugo Pratt is reproduced with kind permission of the copyright owner, Casterman Editions.

Usage Guidelines
(v1.1 July 4, 2002)

Since I published this site I have received several e-mails from people who wanted to use some of my pics. Thanks to all of you for your interest in my photos and for respecting the copyright. Usually - depending on the kind of request - I gave permission to use them, most of the time for free. Unfortunately there was some "abuse" of my goodwill, so I decided to write down what I call "Usage Guidelines". I'm just an amateur photographer, not a lawyer, and I hate to do this kind of thing, it's pretty uncool, but it seems to be necessary. Please use some common sense, keep in mind that I'm not a native English speaker, and that this site is non-commercial for the time being.

So, if you want to use some of my photos, here's what to do:

The Guidelines:

The images you can find on this site are low-resolution scans, optimized for being displayed on the Web. In case you need the images in a better resolution or in another size just let me know, and I'll see if I can do something for you.

Contact me if you're still interested in using my photos or if you have any questions regarding the guidelines.

Purchasing prints

Sorry, unfortunately this is not possible yet. Not because I'm not willing to do so, the reason is that the costs for sending prints overseas from Europe and having the money transfered here are higher than the price of the photos. I haven't found a solution to this problem by now, but if someone is reading this and could give me good advice, please contact me.
