Eddy
I was born 8 July 1941 in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. I started off as an Instrument Technician and eventually had my own business for thirty years, retiring in 1999. I did hang-gliding for 13 years, and microlighting for 8 years, and I am now very involved with lawn bowls.

Janetta
I was born 19 August 1947 in Jersey, Channel Islands, UK. I emigrated to South Africa at the age of twenty. I was a top secretary for thirty years, then I joined a multi-level marketing business in 1995, which has been, and is still, very successful. Although I am not actively promoting it, the company pays us a good monthly income, internationally. My interests are scrapbooking, quilting and reading.

We married in 1990 (second marriage for both of us), and now both our sons have settled in Auckland, New Zealand.

We lived in a lovely apartment at 5 Athenae, 185 Currie Road, Berea, Durban for thirteen years. Berea is an upmarket suburb overlooking the city, sea and harbour. We have been very happy there, and would never have left had the children still been in South Africa.

We have sold our home in Durban and plan to join the kids in a couple of years. In the meantime this is an ideal period for us to travel. We have travelled extensively, as tourists, and now we would like to get to know places and people by living as residents, as opposed to hotels, B&B’s or self-catering units.
