  • Highway geometric design;
  • Incorporating human factors in highway design;
  • Intelligent transportation systems;
  • Public transit systems;
  • Modeling, analysis and optimization of transportation networks;
  • Traffic operations and management;
  • Road safety;
  • Applying project management theories in transportation projects;
  • Pavement design; and
  • All other aspects related to transportation engineering.

To achieve my research goals, I utilize different software resources, including:

  • Transportation network analysis (EMME/2);
  • Driver & vehicle simulation (IHSDM modules, ArcSIM, TruckSIM, VDANL & VDM RoAD);
  • Traffic analysis and simulation (HCS 2000, Synchro & Traffic Sim);
  • Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD);
  • Project management (Primavera P3WIN & MS Project); and
  • Other tools and software utilities.
