Man in the mirror -
sang by Michael Jackson. Guitar arrangement by Tuck
Andress. For me Tuck is the greatest fingerstyle jazz
player. He played like three instruments playing at the
same time. There's a melody, bass and rythym. Want to try
to play this tune? You can check out the tab here
and here.
It's the coolest guitar piece to play.
Somewhere over the rainbow/if I only had a brain - by Harold Arlen. Again guitar arrangement by
Tuck Andress. This tune was a soundtrack of "Wizard
of Oz". Its my favorite song when I was a child. The
intro is a good practice for harp harmonic technique. The
piece gets more challenging when you reached the "if
I had only a brain" part. Try play this tune, the
tab is available here.
Can I help you sir? Yes, please play the blues - yup that was the title = ) Another cool
guitar piece. It's a fingerstyle blues. You can download
the tab here.
Root - Unusual solo
guitar by Gordon Giltrap. The first string tuned down to
C and the bass E down to D the effect is almost sitar-like.
The tab was published in Total Guitar magazine February
1997 issue. I created a tab for this song in plain text here.
Tango en skai - A
tango-flamenco guitar piece by Roland Dyen. It has many
techniques involved: palm muting, tremolo, harp harmonics.
Its a challenging piece. Once you mastered this piece,
its enjoyable to play. The tab is available here.
Malagueña - Chet
Atkins was a very good folk guitar player but he's still
good playing flamenco. I always play this tune, its a
good warm up. If you're a flamenco player try this one,
I'm sure you'll love this song. Click here
for the tab.
Misionera - by Fernando Bustamante and arranged by Jorge Morel. This guy (Jorge Morel) is really incredible. He played this song extremely clean and fast. Its another flamenco song that has a struggling sound. Hard to play as clean and as fast as Jorge Morel. But its fun to play. Follow this link here for the tab.
Somewhere in time -
Very romantic piece by John Barry. It was a soundtrack of
the movie "Somewhere in Time" starring
Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Most version of this
tune was played on piano. I think you'll hear this song
from me for the first time in guitar version. You can see
the tab here.
Misty - Music by Errol
Garner. You'll hear this song from soundtrack of the
movie "Play misty for me" starring Klint
Eastwood. Its a relaxing piece to play. Download the tab here.
Love story - Another
romantic song by Francis Lai. Most of us heard this tune
played as an orchestra. The guitar version also sounds
well. It got bass, rythym and melody. The tab is here.
Dying young - You can
hear this song in many version. The popular version was
played by Kenny G on his saxophone. This was a soundtrack
of the movie of Julia Roberts and Campbell Scott "Dying
young". It's a sentimental piece and also sounds
good on guitar. The tab can be found here.
Do you remember? - My
band's composition. Vocals/drums: Bong, Guitar: Roland,
Guitar: Joed, Bass: Vladimir, Keyboard: JC.
