ABOUT US:
Hampton's Artillery is a reenactment group dedicated to
honoring the soldiers of the American Civil War. Hampton's Artillery is
a well respected, independent, non-political
and non-profit organization, which portrays a civil war light
artillery battery at living histories, public ceremonies, and battle
reenactments.
Our primary impression is that of the Confederate States of
America's famed Hampton's legion Artillery or "Hart's
Battery" serving with the Army of Northern Virginia. We also
portray the Federal Army's Pittsburg Battery "F" or "Hampton's
Battery" serving with the Pennsylvania Light Artillery.
We operate with a 10lb. Parrott Rifle, Limber, and two
Coehorn Mortars. Battery members are also equipped with small arms and
are known for their spirited attacks on opposing forces.
Our cannoneers are trained to operate artillery by the
National Civil War Artillery Association standards and receive
instruction in the safe use of pistols and rifles.
Hampton's Artillery has a Para-Medic and
an Emergency Room Nurse in our membership. When a situation arises,
many times they become the first emergency response personnel and
administer first aid to those in need.
Hampton's Artillery is proud to affiliate themselves with "The
Fightin' Valley Division" and the "Artillery
Reserve Association". These two organizations exemplify the
utmost professionalism and honor in the Civil War reenactment community.
Hampton's Artillery serves as the Official Ceremonial
Artillery for "Nittany Post 245 of the American Legion, State College
PA" and "The Boal Mansion and Museum, Boalsburg PA".
Hampton's Artillery is fully insured by a group liability
policy and we also provide our active members with a minor medical
policy.
The members of Hampton's Artillery hold bi-monthly meetings
throughout the year, at either a designated meeting place or at
reenactment events. The Commanding Officer of Hampton's Artillery is
Captain Stephen Harter, who conducts all the groups military affairs.
The groups appointed Communication Officer is Janet Deno.
The elected Organizational Officers of Hampton's Artillery for the year
2006 are:
