yOUR music ministry

Riley Armstrong , contemporary Christian guitarist and his band, performed at ECCC Friday, October 4th.- one of many stops on his "Whatever the Weather" tour. The concert was a wonderful success: - excellent attendance, especially since we had to deal with “leftover” rainstorms from a hurricane. Riley and his band played wonderful music, and the meal prepared by Betty Hopkins and Martha Hays was especially appreciated. I spoke to persons who came from Ann Arbor MI, Portsmouth and Sunbury. We received phone calls from Dayton. The ECCC fellowship has been shared in many ways. Thanks to all who helped. Riley capped off the week at ECCC following concerts at Vandalia and Toledo and a Monday morning interview with 'The Riot' on RadioU

This was a very different concert for us to sponsor and we wonderfully encouraged by the attendance of several visiting youth groups. Riley's use of humor and witness to introduce his songs insured an uplifting evening of worship, praise and fellowship. click here for pictures from our concert

Praise and Worship Team

The Worship Committee met on October 17 with other interested people to discuss forming a Praise and Worship team.  We have been gradually laying the groundwork over the last several months.  There are four individuals interested in singing, we need technical people to help operate equipment, and need your support and prayers as we continue to move along.
A "Praise the Lord"-    Ideally, for a Praise and Worship team, each singer needs an individual microphone, we need the ability to play multiple CD’s etc.  Our current soundboard has been “filled” to capacity and has no more “outlets” for additional microphones.  Harry's brother, Ed Whitney- of Metro Music , has donated a 16 outlet soundboard to the church.  This will add the needed flexibility for our various sound needs.  The donation came as a surprise to us.  Our most grateful thanks to the good Lord and to Ed Whitney.  As the saying goes “success breeds success”.

Christmas Music

Yes, it is only November but mark your calendar for the Christmas Cantata on December 22 during morning worship.  It is a 15-minute work titled “A Simple Christmas”.
It will please you to know that all the hymns and carols have been chosen through the Christmas season.  Throughout the weeks of Advent we will be singing approximately 25-28 carols.  That’s almost every carol in the hymnal.  Come and enjoy.

Christmas Caroling

Join us the evening of December 22.  Details to follow.

Watoto (The Children) Choir Concert

It was a terrific August 6 concert given by the Watoto choir. Over 150 people attended, a very generous offering of $1,600 was received (all donated to the choir), and most of all, a great evening of music making. “Oh, what a night!”
The children’s choir was especially appreciative of the wonderful hospitality shown by our ECCC family. They thoroughly enjoyed the family-style meal prepared by Betty Hopkins, Martha Hays and Leanne Steele. The choir enjoyed their stay in our homes, and the “carry with them” lunch prepared for the following day’s travel.
Many thanks to Mike Goodfleisch for all of his hard work and to Carol Pozz for her work in contacting other churches. And to all the others that helped- a most sincere thank you.
One thing is for sure: the name of ECCC, its friendliness, hospitality, and giving of itself in Christ’s name has surely spread to our neighborhood, city, state, country and the continents (including Africa). That, above all, is the reason for doing what we did.

“Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, harp, lyre, tambourine, dancing, strings, flute, cymbals... Let everything that hath breath Praise the Lord.”
