Earl Standberry II (The PeaceMaker) began his second cross country pilgrimage on January 1, 2000.  His first pilgrimage in 1998 ended prematurely when Earl had an untimely and life-threatening encounter with a freight train.  Earl's 1998 walk

During his recovery, Earl joined the Stonewalk team spending 5 weeks helping to haul a one ton monument from Massachusetts to Washington DC.  At the conclusion of the Stonewalk Earl knew that he had to continue his pilgrim calling.   And so the journey begins anew.  See Earl's Appeal.

Earl's Initial Message

On the eve of the Millennium Journey - 12/31/1999

To all my new and old friends,

I truly want to thank each and everyone of you for your love and support throughout the years or months I have known you all. My life has definitely been one I'll never ever forget. I am truly blessed to be a messenger of God and since my leg has been re-attached from the train accident.  I am embarking on another journey.

Starting Jan 1st from the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA. I will walk to New York and hopefully arrive in Washington,D.C to greet the new President of the new millennium. This time I will be carrying a small replica of a memorial stone for "Unknown Civilians Killed In War". This is a project that I have been fortunate to be a part of. (http://www.peaceabbey.org)

I truly have one person who has helped me change my life and I truly wish that everyone can visit the Peace Pilgrim Center in Hemet,Ca. (http://www.peacepilgrim.org). Her name is Mildred Norman, better known as the Peace Pilgrim. With only hours left before my journey I want to wish you all the best light and energy to be around you all next year. You will always be in my prayers and hopefully we will see one another again. I will try to update my website along the walk.

Namaste'
