TAMU Corps of Cadets Scholarship -- Let me introduce myself. I am Sergeant Major Dennis L. Hastings, >> I am presently the Assistant Director, Corps Recruiting at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station, TX. I am soliciting your help in finding q alified candidates interested in attending TAMU. Corps of Cadets scholarships range in value from $1,000-$8,000, and carry no military obligation. Students can receive a Corps scholarship in addition to other scholarships (ROTC, University, Hometown club, etc.) The majority of these scholarships are r served for students entering the Corps as freshman cadets. Most Corps scholarships qualify non-Texas residents for a non-resident tuition waiver. The types of scholarships available include: Commandant's Leadership Award 4-year scholarship, valued at $8,000 total. Payable at 1,500 per semester for the first two years, $1,500 per semester the last two years. 40 available each year for entering Corps freshman. Meade-Carpenter Emerging Leaders Award 1-year scholarship, valued at $1,000 total, payable during the freshman year Approximately 20 available for entering freshmen cadets. When to Apply Students should apply during their senior year in high school, or the year prior to joining the Corps of Cadets if they are no longer in high school. Students who apply early increase their competitiveness for a Corps scholarship. Early selection will e able scholarship presentations to be made in the spring, usually during high school awards ceremonies. How to Apply 1. Please call (800) TAMU-AGS to request an application. 2. Attach two letters of recommendation. Good sources for letters of recommendation include teachers, coaches, Scout leaders, employers, ministers, etc. 3. Nice site! Although it would not kill you to put some pictures in it. I am the Battalion Commander for my school, I was the X-O but our SAI wanted me and the B.C to change positions. I am a let 4 with a 4.2 G.P.A. and will attend West Point after high school grad! Besides the picture thing, your site is OK! Keep it up! HOOAH!
