Inexpensive SWB Kids Recumbent
I built this inexpensive SWB recumbent for my 8 year old son.   The bike was assembled from Huffy 26" hacksawed bottom bracket.
The frame is from a China made 20" girls single speed. The front fork from a "Good Will" picked 16" bike.
The bike is very stable at
all speeds and has a good gear range of 23 - 90 with 14 speeds.
The pictures show some of the progression of the building.
All parts with exception of cables were "Good Will" ultra cheap bikes. Huffy cost $15, the 16" bike $5, the 20" bike $5. Welding (the boom) cost me $40.
Its rough cut but I'll eventually have it painted and will provide updated pictures of the finished bike.
