Latest News(02.10.2001): On the 132nd Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Dr.Mahesh Sharma has been appointed as Chairman of the KVIC for a period of five years commencing from 02.10.2001. A notification to this effect has finally been issued by the Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries, Govt. of India. Dr.Sharma is destined to bring a new era of Rural Industrialisation in the country utilising his years of experience while working for the rural and tribal areas.
News(27.09.2001): KVIC successfully organised national level Khadi Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi wherein His Excellency the Vice President of India Shri Krishna Kant was the Chief Guest and thousand of eminent personalities and Artisans from Khadi sector participated. The most appreciated Film "Baazigar-Karigar" Directed by Shri Krishna Raghav and Produced by KVIC was also screened during the celebrations.
News(03.09.2001): KVIC has got its own Cabinet Minister for the first time in its history, Shri Kariya Munda has sworn in as Union Minister for ARI. Shri Munda is a senior BJP leader and a Member of Lok Sabha from Khunti (ST) constituency of Jharkhand State.
News(09.08.2001): KVIC has got its new Chief Executive Officer - Shri Chinmay Basu, 1977 Batch IAS formerly Commissioner-cum-Secretary, PR & Rural Development Deptt., Govt. of Orissa played an important role in Relief and Rehabilitation work of Cyclone hit Orissa. Mr.Basu is in Delhi today.
