Dwarf Hamsters in General: Dwarf Hamsters are Nocturnal (active & awake during the night) but are awake for short periods during the day. Once they become adult dwarfies, they most likely will reject new hamsters and attack those who come into their territory. They can, however, live happily with other dwarf hamsters. It's best for them to be introduced when they're still young or babies. They have poor eye sight, but they have a really good sense of smell. Hamsters depend on their noses and wiskers to find food, water, bedding, etc..They also have very good hearing. Did you know that they communicate with each other at ultrasonic pitches? Pretty cool huh? Their diet consists of various seeds, other plant material, insects, and other animal matter. So If you want dwarfies living together.. I would suggest you buy them together from the very start. |
