I have been attending the annual series of lectures organized
by the Association for the Study of Modern Hellenism, Mnemon.
The lectures are dedicated to several topics and issues concerning
modern Greek history.
1999-2000:
I attended and participated in the graduate research seminars
in Media Studies organized by the Graduate Research Center
in Culture & Communication at the University of Sussex.
1998-1999:
I attended as an auditor the graduate seminars at the Department
of History, University of Athens.
January-February
1999: I participated and coordinated a graduate research
seminar organized by the academic journal of history and cultural
studies Historein on: "Intellectual history and the history
of the Literati in the era of the Ottoman Empire."

1998- June 1999: I participated in an inter-departmental
graduate research seminar on "Gender and History".

1998: I attended a conference organized by the Association
for the Study of Modern Hellenism, Mnemon at the Pasteur Institute
in Athens. The topic of this conference was: "New approaches
to Political History."

1998: I attended an international conference organized
at Ermoupolis (Syros) by the National Research Foundation
and the University of Athens. The topic of this conference
was: "Heterodoxies: The formation of identity and otherness
in early modern and modern Europe."
May
1998: I presented a paper on "The Jewish community of
Salonica (1913-1940)" at an undergraduate conference organized
by the Department of History, University of Athens. The topic
of this seminar was: "Greek national identity and citizenship:
The insiders and the outsiders of the nation (1821-1940)."
December
1997: I attended an international conference on "The history
of the modern Greek city" organized by the Association for
the Study of Modern Hellenism, Mnemon at the Pasteur Institute
in Athens.
