A simple tale, if somewhat long-winded, of a short drive through Africa. "Mad mzungus", "You-You-You!", "Feranji": we were called all sorts of things in Africa and treated like royalty throughout our trip.
We learned a lot during our travels, about ourselves, fellow travellers, Africa's residents and the world at large. Lessons we would not have learned anywhere else and in any other manner. Priceless lessons.
Before leaving, we learned lots but none of it was enough and we've had to pick up a lot (usually truck pieces which fell off!) along the way. After finding what we thought was the right vehicle, teaching it some universal language as we learned how to repair, prepare and tear out hair, selling our accumulated junk, getting married, reading more travel books than we realised existed, accumulating maps, fuming at bureaucrats (nice guys when they're off-duty, we're sure!) and tying yet another knot, we set off in November 2001.
Truck off and read about our dreams at Write Lines.
This site is for friends, family and other Africa-philes. Even when we were lost we made you sure you knew about it.

Enjoy,
Robb & Lisa
