Dunbar 7 Hystory
It all began in the back woods of Dunbar in Fayette County in the early 1950's.  7 people called the Hicklayans joined to form a band.  This band used their instruments to create a unique sound that developed into Polka Rock.  Polka Rock was enjoyed by nearly everyone in Fayette County as the original band debuted as Dunbar 7 for 20 years.  Each generation after continued the band, until the band went bankrupt in 1998.

At that point, Polka Rock almost died.  Then, in 2000, Polka Rock returned.  A band of 3 guys from Fayette County known as
Out of Sync came along. Their debut came at their youth group.  They had a 5-minute spot where they debuted with their first hit "Beautiful Flower".

Over the past few months, the band decided to make some changes. They recently added a member.  They also changed the name of the band.  Although there are only four members in band, they call themselves Dunbar 7 to carry the tradition of  the original 7 Hicklayans of Dunbar who once graced the stages of Fayette County.  The name is a symbol of recognition and honor.

Today, Polka Rock lives on thru thousands of concerts each year in Fayette County.  Millions of people long for the rich sound of Rock Polka.  Now this great music is aired daily thru WBMS 509AM Radio.

Dunbar 7 is currently fighting to keep its name.  Please come support us by clicking
