If you'd like to play with Dulcimer Central, you'll need to be at least a Novice level, i.e., be able to tune your dulcimer to DAA/ and/or DAD, and play a few simple tunes . Dulcimer Central plays primarily in DAD. If you have just gotten a dulcimer & have no experience, we'll help you find a source of basic instruction. We encourage new players, but at this time our Tuesday night jams are time-limited (our participants drive from Indialantic, Lake Mary, Clermont, St. Cloud, etc.), so the two short hours we meet, we can't spend a lot of time on basic instruction. We will help those of you who are trying to learn or perfect new techniques, and we encourage our players to share their skills. That's one of the reasons for having our jams.
Dulcimer Central will be performing at the Barberville Spring Music and Dance Frolic April 26 & 27. Check back for their performance schedule which will be announced here at this website soon.
This is a Dulcimer Safe Zone!!!
Accoustic folk instruments welcomed as long as they are used for their rightful purpose: to enhance and accompany the mountain dulcimer. Please remember, this is a
mountian dulcimer group (:>). Spouses welcome!
Dulcimer Central hosted the Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Center's April 05 Coffee House.
