Eurydice, 02/17/06!!!

No new pictures today, but I just got a new song that’s worth sharing. Eurydice is one of the song in the upcoming release of “Dawn Seeker” by SleepThief. The vocal belongs to Jody Quine who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite singer.

I was curious to know what Eurydice is, and it turns out that this is a character in Greek Mythology. Orpheus was the son of Apollo, and as the greatest musician of Greek myth, his songs could charm wild beasts and coax even rocks or trees into movement. Eurydice was his wife, and they were deeply in love. When Eurydice was killed by the bite of a serpent, Orpheus went down to the underworld, and through his beautiful songs, was able to convince Hades to allow Eurydice to return to the world of the living. However, Orpheus had to meet one condition: he must not look back as he was bringing her to the surface. Just before the pair reached the upper world, Orpheus looked back, and Eurydice slipped back into the netherworld once again. Orpheus was inconsolable at this second loss of his wife, and lived a life of isolation until he died. When you hear music that mourns lost love, supposedly it is Orpheus' spirit who guides the hand of the musicians who play it. Don’t know about the myth, but I like the song! :)

Eurydice
...I'm given the chance to lead you home
No looking back, no way to know
The light is ahead, we're moving slow
Approaching life, where you will be home, but
I've lost you my lovely
To the depths of an ocean
My blind faith, I follow you with your hope and devotion
I sing for your freedom-I'm lost to release you
No heaven waits for us my sweet
I'll follow your demise to hell and beyond
...

The team formerly known as "ESG OEM" reunion, 02/11/06!!!

The old family gathered once again. I still can't believe William showed up! Let the good food and good times roll...

I came across a singer name Harland. She is one of the feature singer of Sleepthief's upcoming album "Dawnseeker" (to be released this May..can not wait!). I love her voice. Her song "In the Dark" is a simple song, but it does show off her sensual voice...

New Year Eve Pictures from the Loft, 01/25/06!!!

Just posted some pictures that Dan and I took during our New Year's eve party at the Loft.

And as long as I am still up for the night, let me introduce you to an artist name Balligomingo. The two selections are "Heat" and "Marooned." You will notice that "Marooned" is more toward the Trip-Hop-Ambiance genre. So sit back, take your shoes off, sip your coffee, and enjoy the ride!

Happy Tet everyone, 01/24/06!!!

In a couple of days it will be the year of Rover! Wishing you all health, happiness, and success. And I really really really hope it will be a better year for me and Duy... :)

Now where is my "LeeCee?"

I have been so busy with work, so I have not post any new pictures for awhile. Let me work backward and start off with some pictures from Van's bday weekend bash. My little sister is getting old...whoa! In a couple of days I will post more pictures from New Year and Xmas, so stay tuned!

I came across a singer name Kirsty Hawkshaw, and I love her voice. I have put two of her songs "Just Be Me" and "Battleship Gray" (with DJ Tiesto) for you to listen. Enjoy!

Van's mamma bday dinner, 11/06/05!!!

Van took her mamma and daddy to the Melting Pot for some delicious fondue (love the dessert), and I got to come along (thank you little sis..sniff!) :) Happy bday to you! And of course we have pictures...

UA's excellent adventure to Guangzhou, China 10/23/05!!!

It has been 10 years since I last visited China, and while many things have changed (a lot more cars on the road), some other things have not (the air still stinks high heaven). Although most of the time there was devoted to work, I did sneak in a day or two to look around. See here for some pictures from the trip.

This time, I want to introduce a less known singer name Carla Werner. I like her sensual voice, and her song "Iodine Red," although slow, is mesmerizing to me. Hope you like it.

Happy b-day to me! 09/24/05!!!

Ok...so I am another year older. Not necessary wiser, but older. All good though. A couple of close friends and I were out to celebrate, and boy I am glad it only happens once a year. Also, the end of August marked another sad chapter at Motorola, but it gave us another excuse for a party. On other news, I will be heading to HK and China after the first week of October. Oh, and I plan to take my camera with me to document my excellent adventure.

Meanwhile, here are a couple of new songs for you to listen. The first song is "Endless Dream" which is from Conjure One's new album "Extraordinary." Not too bad of an album. For the second selection, I am picking up the temple a bit with Poe's "Haunted." I like it as it has a catchy beat. It is interesting to note that Poe sang both of these songs, but each is produced by a different artist, so she sounds a little different each time. Enjoy!

Endless Dream

It's all coming back to me now
that strange and almost endless dream
where I was you and you were me
you opened up your eyes and I could see
that you were falling from the world
as aimless as a shooting star
in all that around me thinking I was somebody else
and terrified to look at me and see yourself well

you are like a dream
and I am just a trip you are on
when the trip is over
you will go back to the places that you once belonged
you will look for comfort there
and when you do you'll find that it has gone
that is when you'll dream a dream
where I am you and you are me
and then you'll know my love

Genesis, 08/29/05!!!

Just in case you haven't heard, after 11 years, Motorola decided to cease their OEM operation in Lawrenceville. Unfortunately, I am one of the many that was "impacted," and my last day was 07/29. All well ends well, as it was time for me to move on and do something new anyway. Before we go on our separate ways, the team got back together for a last day bbq. And what a team it was; I was fortunate to be able to work with a great bunch of people. They all will be missed. See the photos here.

Ah, before I go, here are some good photos of Val's, David's, and Bonnie's birthday dinner!

Memorial Day in LaGrange, GA 06/06/05!!!

Where's LaGrange? The correct answer is "in the middle of nowhere!" A short weekend trip down there to visit Holly, Long, and their two kids... :)

It's getting hot in here 06/01/05!!!

It's the beginning of the summer in Hotlanta! I hope everything is going well. Summer means reruns on the tube, so to help alleviate the boredom, I have posted a couple of new pictures. Just in case you have not gotten enough of Dan's wedding pictures, here are more taken by the professional photographer (set 4, 5, and 6). And if you have not heard, Trey and Gabby Young are now proud parents of little Ean Young!!! Congrats to both of you!!! I also posted some pictures from Bonnie's sister's surprise bday party and a couple of shots from Mother's day lunch! Enjoy!!!

One more item: I am trying create a new music jukebox for the site, and right now there is one song. Please drop me a line to let me know if the player does not work for some reason.

Just in case you are wondering, the song you are hearing is "Innocente" by Delerium. Here is its beautiful lyrics. Enjoy!

Innocente
Delerium

ah, ah you can't see my eyes
you can't see my eyes
and they don't see yours
hear me when I say I don't mind at all

it's the rain that I hear coming
not a stranger or a ghost it's the quiet of a storm approaching
that I fear the most it's the pain that I hear coming
the slightest crystal tear drops to the ground
in silence when my love is near
darling when did you fall when was it over
darling when, when did you fall when was it over

it's marching through my door now the stony cold of lonesome
a bell tolls for my heart and then my lonesome song begins
it's marching through my door now the stony cold of lonesome
a bell tolls for my heart and now my lonesome song begins
darling when did you cry I couldn't hear you
darling when, when did you cry I couldn't hear you
I suppose it is the price of falling in love (I suppose it is the price of falling in love)
I suppose it is the price of falling in love (I suppose it is the price of falling in love)

ah, ah it's the rain that I hear coming
not a stranger not a ghost the quiet of a storm approaching
that I fear the most it's the pain that I hear coming
the slightest crystal tear drops to the ground
in silence when my love is near
it's marching through my door now the stony cold of lonesome
a bell tolls for my heart and now my lonesome song will end
darling when did we fall when was it over, darling when,
when did we fall when was it over
I suppose it is the price of falling in love
I fear that it's the price of falling in love
I fear that it's the price of falling in love
I fear that it's the price of falling in love
I fear that it's the price of falling in love

It's time for a MAJOR house cleaning!!! 11/25/04....

Ah yes, it has been a long while since I updated my site. Sorry for the long delay, but 2004 has been a difficult year for me. It has been a year filled with my highest highs and my lowest lows. Don't feel too bad for me though. for this is just part of life, and as long as I am still alive, there will be a tomorrow. So, it's time for me to stop pouting, get up, brush off the dirt, and move forward.

It's also time to clean off the website. I have removed some of the older pictures and added new ones. Enjoy!

:)

Love you all!!

UA

Fallen

Do you remember me?
I'm just a shadow now
This is where I used to be
Right here beside you
Sometimes I call your name
High on a summer breeze

What I would give
To feel the sunlight on my face
What I would give
To be lost in your embrace

I've fallen from a distant star
I've come back, compelled because of love
I'm caught between two different worlds
I long for one more night on earth

Do you believe in dreams?
That's how I found you
But I can't be revealed
'Til you take a leap of faith

What I would give
To feel the sunlight on my face
What I would give
To be lost in your embrace
