Percy was also a Fire Warden until he died. He built a new house on the farm land around 1948. The wood to build the house was cut from his own sawmill. He cured and dried the wood himself. In later years he turned the potato farm into a dairy farm.
I remember when I was growing up that the farm was the place to go! Everyone was welcome anytime . One of my fondest memories of Percy was him sitting at the table nodding off to sleep saying " yup yup got to milk the cows" . He also got me unstuck several times when I got into trouble with the snowmobile. If you were lucky enough you got to ride the Little A tractor with him or the bailer sometimes even the combine. Percy will always be remembered as a loving , kind and gentle man.
