Sorry for the lack of update, especially during the DNC. But I'm here with some more news regarding the nation and the Bush administration we love so much.
Predicitons of the 2004 budget show that we are likely going to beat the record for greatest deficit in U.S. history, by possibly 70 billion dollars. The record stands at $375 billion, which occured only last year.

The Democratic National Convention is under way. This year's being held in Boston; speakers include former president Bill Clinton, former president Jimmy Carter, former vice president Al Gore, and senator (most likely future presidential candidate) Hillary Clinton. The convention will continue for another three days, with presidential hopeful John Kerry arriving in Boston tomorrow. Below is a Seattle Times report of the first day, however continueing coverage can be found on basically any news station.

Michael Moore invites President Bush to a private screening of his new movie Fahrenheit 9/11. He told told the president in his proposal that he (Bush) was responsible for the funniest quotes in the movie, and would just like to thank him.

With campaign contributions being limited, several "anti-Bush" groups have been formed to use these contributions to get him out of office. Top donners include the founder of RealNetworks, giving almost 1 million to the cause. This years contributions are true shocker, considering the in 2000 elections, most of the top 20 contributors supported inititives such as those of building charter-schools.

Attempting to increase his African-American following, President Bush made a stop at The Urban League. He spoke of issues regarding racial equality in jobs, education, and even pointed out the diversity in his administration. Along with the story, CBS News gave some interesting statistics:

  in approval of Bush: 11%
  not in approval of Bush: 85%
  that voted for Bush in 2000: 9%
  that oppose the Iraq War: 90%
  that support the Iraq War: 8%
  that believe Bush stole the 2000 elections: 85%

The 9/11 comission report is released. The 567-page report discusses several
important issues including the possible prevention of the attacks (they claim
it was not possible), and the connection between al-Qaida and Iraq (of which
there was none). Also included was the Bush/Clinton interviews, in which Clinton says that he told the Bush administration that Bin Laden and al-Qaida was the major threat, were as Bush claims that Clinton said nothing of al-Qaida or Bin
Laden but did mention "terrorists":
