Stevie Y has only played for the Detroit Red Wings. They choose him in the 1983 entry draft, 4th overall. He has been the Team Captain for since 1985...one of the longest tenures in nhl history. Yzerman has scored more then 60 goals twice and is currently a member of the 600/600 club..a group of past and present nhlers who have more then 600 goals and 600 assists...he is quickly nearing the very private 700/700. Steve led his Red Wings to Stanley Cup Championships in 1997, ending that pesky 42 year draught, and 1998 & 2002...he was brought in to be the franchise player and unlike 'others' he hasn't disappointed!!!
