Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR : 

DT: When the band was formed? (Current line - up).
IS: We were formed in March of 2003. We had our first show in April of 2003. Our current line up is: Myself-VOICE OF UNREASON (vocalist/guitarist), FERMENTED (guitarist/vocalist), THE MACHINE (drums), and EMETIC PULSE (bass). EMETIC and I.S. will most likely be parting ways due to creative differences. 

DT: Talk me about your musical influences.
IS: As a band, our musical influences vary from CRYPTOPSY, DEATH, MONSTROSITY, ABORTED, MESHUGGAH, PIG DESTROYER, DYING FETUS, DECAPITATED, SUFFOCATION, NASUM, ANAL CUNT, etc.

DT: Are you crazy for cocaine?.
IS: Hahah, nah. The Bass player and the guitarist love to smoke the ganja sometimes. We try to stay in a clear state of mind. We are very focused and want to be a big contributor to the brutal music scene. 

DT: Tell us about your Demo "Ectopic Gestation", thanks for the CD DAMIEN !!!
IS: It was done in 8 hours - mixing and "mastering". That pretty much explains it all. It is basically to give the listener an idea of our style. We are not very happy with the sound quality. We just finished recording our 7 song EP entitled "PATHOLOGICAL BRUTALISTIC FERMENTATION". The overall quality is sick! We are very pleased. Your copy is in the mail and will be with you soon!

DT: How does the writing on INTESTINAL STRANGULATION? How about lyrics?
IS: Musically, we contribute equally. Myself, or Fermented start with an idea on the guitar, then we do about 3 or 4 riffs to start a foundation. Then THE MACHINE adds some drums. We finish the song like that and do the bass lines last. As for the lyrics, I write all the lyrics for the songs after the song is finished. It's rare, but sometimes I write some lyrics first, then we make a song from the lyrics. That's how we did "REDIGESTED". It's on our EP I will be sending you. 

DT: Are you friends with TONY KAMO?.
IS: Hell yeah! We smoked a joint with him one day. He tried to hypnotize us. Hehe. We are the ones that called him "El Mentalista de las Grandes Masas". 

DT: What can you talk me about your work with WALTER MERCADO?.
IS: Well, we told him our signs (Leo, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Gemini) and he told us our future. He said we would be sick fucken Death/Grind chingones. I hope it's true. 

DT: What kind of things inspire you the most, when making a song?.
IS: We mutually get inspired by thinking about the fucken crowd and how sick we can make the mosh pit. We also get inspired by horror movies, gore, and brutal bands we love and listen to. We also get influenced on all the fucked up shit happening in the world that people don't seem to care about. 

DT: ALYSSA MILANO or NATALIE PORTMAN?.
IS: PRINCESS AMIDALA of course! NATALIE PORTMAN. 

DT: Please describe your stage performance. What songs do you play on stage and do you play any cover songs?.
IS: We feel confident in our stage performance. We don't cut ourselves or vomit or shit like that. We don't want people to remember us by "that band where the guy bleeds or something". We want people to remember us by our music. We don't choose to do cover songs for the same reason. We don't want to be one of those bands that people want to see just because we play a song from their favorite band. We just play and get lost in our music. We interact with the crowd and try to make them feel involved and equal with us. I feel we are a humble band. 

DT: What do you know about Peruvian Underground Scene?.
IS: Um, I know HADEZ is like one of the oldest Peruvian bands to put it down for Metal. Pessimist is a good band too. Other than that, I'm not too familiar with the Peruvian Scene.

DT: Please what is your opinion about the old Heavy Metal?.
IS: Well, fermented and the machine aren't really a fan of it, besides SLAYER. I know EMETIC PULSE likes IRON MAIDEN and SLAYER. Personally I love it. I grew up with bands like DEATH ANGEL, DARK ANGEL, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, IRON MAIDEN, ANTHRAX, MEGADETH, VENOM, etc. 

DT: Your 10 favorite albums from all the times?.

DT: Do you prefer MACINTOSH or PC?.
IS: PC. I'm not too familiar with Macintosh.

DT: Tell me about the Underground Scene in your city.
IS: It sucks. Too many people thinking they are better than everyone else. We have to stop getting into little groups of conceited shit talkers and start to unite with the music again. Shows suck here too. To get good shows you have to pay to play. Presale like $500 of tickets. If not, you get stuck playing the same bars and coffee shops for the same crowd. Eventually that crowd gets bored of the same shit. The same bands at the same places all the time. We need more bands with new music and fresh ideas. We need more touring bands from out of state and out of country. 

DT: How long do you think INTESTINAL STRANGULATION will be around?... Do you think you could keep on playing this kind of music when your 50 of age or over?.
IS: We will be around till we die. Then INTESTINAL STRANGULATION will live on through our children. Haha! We don't plan to break up or stop. We want to push the limits of technical, of brutal, and of experimental as much as we can. 

DT: Do you know the Chilean Satanist "PATO" YAÑEZ?.
IS: Nope. We don't really follow religious thinking. Negative or positive. We just like gore and true-life experiences. The sick truth of this fucked up world. 

DT: Tell me about your last gig?.
IS: Our last gig was 2 months ago. We took a break for 2 months to write new music, record our EP, and plan our west coast tour in August. It was one of our best shows. I got the same set up as FERMENTED (cabinets and guitar head) and it was our first time playing with triggers on the drums. We sounded like a different band, but with the same songs. It was great! We played with DECIMATE and SPECIMEN 32. They are both great bands that will make it somewhere soon. 

DT: Do you listen to anything apart from Metal?.
IS: Of course. We like Classic Rock, some Punk, shit like NIRVANA, PRIMUS, etc. I like shit like STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN and other blues, some classical stuff, and some Goth/Industrial stuff like SKINNY PUPPY, WUMPSCUT, etc. 

DT: Your future plans.
IS: We will release our EP in June. We are doing a west coast US tour in August to promote the EP. Then we will send it to all of our favorite Labels, Magazines, and Webzines for reviews and to try to get signed. We plan to play a lot of Festivals next year like the MILWAUKEE METALFEST, SEATTLE DEATH FEST, BESTIAL LEGIONS FEST in California, GATES OF METAL in California, and other Festivals. It's a good way to play for many people and play with many good bands. When we get signed we want to release an album every year and tour the world with great bands and to play for all our fans. 

DT: Your last comment for DEATHTHRASHER readers?.
