DT:
When and why the band was formed?.
S:
STIGMA was born in year 2000 as an Hardcore old school band with a strong attitude but a feeble devotion! We loved a band called RAISED FIST from Sweden and we were absolutely haunted by their music, so myself and the actual guitar player MORGAN decided to start this project! But the real STIGMA born, after a temporary split up in summer 2002 , with a new line up and after 10 months of song composing we recorded our first MCD "Metamorphosis" that made us sign with HARDEBARAN AGENCY (Belgium) and with NOCTURNAL BRIGHTS RECORDS (Italy) for the release of an upcoming full lenght.
DT:
Why the name of STIGMA?.
S:
We like the ancient feels you experience listening to that name..it made feel something very dark and claustrophobic. MORGAN found it and we immediately choose it.
DT:
What topics do you consider in your lyrics?.
S:
In "Metamorphosis" I tried to explain various meanings of the word metamorphosis: the literary one, the psychological one and the personal one. It's not a concept MCD but lyrics are connected! So I don't have particular topics, I write about the feelings I have in that moment.
DT:
Your influences?.
S:
Oh! We listen to a lot of Death Metal (Swedish and Brutal), so bands like ARCH ENEMY but also like DYING FETUUS and ZUBROWSKA, also we listen to Grindcore (NASUM, FLESHLESS..), trash (SLAYER especially) and Hardcore (RAISED FIST, STAMPIN' GROUND, EARTH CRISIS and stuff like that); but we don't have a particular influence, we try to mix all the components we like taking the best feels from the various styles.
DT: What do
you know about South American Underground Scene?.
S:
Unfortunately we don't know too much about it! I have some mp3s but nothing more! :-(
DT:
Do you like STAR WARS?.
S:
Yes I like it very much.with the LORD OF THE RINGS is one of my favourite films!
DT:
What do you think about extra-terrestrials? Do you believe in that?.
S:
Yes, I suppose we couldn't be alone in the universe.. but I don't think they could have the look that everyone imagine.. no little and green creatures but more similar to us.
DT:
Are you friends with NECRODEATH?.
S:
No, we like their music but we don't live close so we haven't already met each other.
DT:
Which is the best Italian band from ever?.
S:
I don't know.. actually I think DARK LUNACY, they are very original and their live exhibition are very very good!
DT:
Tell me about your "METAMORPHOSIS"?.
S:
"Metamorphosis" is a MCD with 5 track of "fast and furious" Deathcore with trash riffing, grind violence and Hardcore's ground shaking brakes! It has done in Digipak format with booklet and a sticker inside and we're very proud of it!
DT:
Your musical productions?
S:
"Metamorphosis" is the first release. We will record our first full lenght this summer!
DT:
Do you like GIGER's Art?.
S:
Yes..I like it..
DT:
Do you like CADAVERIA?.
S:
MMM..well it's not my favourite kind of music but I always respect people that trust in what is doing..I prefer OPERA IX but also CADAVERIA is good!
DT:
Do you know CLAUDIO PIZARRO?.
S:
Who? The soccer player? I'm not a great football fan but I know he's strong!
DT:
PC or MACINTOSH? Do you know STEVE JOBS?.
S:
PC but I know that Mac is better in graphic works.. so I stay with the enemy but I know that Mac is very good :-) ! STEVE JOBS? I have already listen that name...
DT:
Are you into PS2, GAMECUBE, X-BOX? or any VIDEO GAMES? Do you remember ATARI 2600?.
S:
Yes I have PS2 and X-Box and I love them both.. and of course.. I remember the great ATARI!!
DT:
Are you into drugs?
S:
No, absolutely.
DT:
You´re future plans?.
S:
This September will come out our first full lenght under NOCTURNAL BRIGHTS RECORDS and we hope it could be appreciated like "Metamorphosis". After that we'll try to play live as much as we can promoting it more and more! Now we're in the final of an important national contest promoted by METALLUS.IT and the final price is a gig in Wacken this summer!!!So we'll try to win to colonize also beer land!!
DT:
Any last comment for your most brutal fans?.
S:
