35 seconds left in regulation, Brenden Morrow lifted the Dallas Stars to a 2-2 tie with the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night.

Rob DiMaio also scored for Dallas, 8-1-2 in their last 11 games. The Stars are three points behind Vancouver for fourth place in the Western Conference.

Marcus Ragnarsson and Tony Amonte scored for the Flyers which moved two points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning for first place in the East.

Valeri Bure, playing his first game with the Stars, and playing hard, took a slap shot that hit Morrow in the chest and dropped down at his feet and went past Flyers goaltender Robert Esche to make it 2-2. Dallas had several chances on the power play but could not convert.

Esche made 37 saves, including a fast wrist shot by Jere Lehtinen late in overtime.

Flyers went up early in the third period, when Ragnarsson made a one-timer and went pass Marty Turco for his 5th of the season.

Dallas finaly tied it at 1 with a Rob DiMaio goal, his 100th career goal early in the second. .

Dallas still couldn't capitalize even when they where on a four-minute power play that they received in the second period when Donald Brashear got called for a double-minor for high-sticking Teppo Numminen.

And Amonte's power-play goal gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead in the first period.

The Flyers won their previous game with the defending Stanley Cup Champs the New Jersey Devils by a 3-1 score.

The Flyers second straight win over the New Jersey Devils put them up with a seven-point lead in the Eastren Division with only 11 games to go. The Flyers will get another chance to add more points to their lead when they face the Devils on home ice Saturday.

Dallas will now go to Detroit to play their third road game out of four (0-1-1)

The Red Wings stepped up in the West on Thursday with a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Henrik Zetterberg posted an empty-net goal on the boards for Detroit.

Detroit's goaltender Curtis Joseph, made his first start since missing 11 games, due to having a right sprained ankle, made a total of 31 saves.

If Dallas wins the game against Detroit they will pull within one point of San Jose for the Pacific Division lead.
