Dallas roasts Calgary 5-1, Box Score

Marty Turco is finaly back and did he ever do great.
And Mike Mo finaly quenches his hunger.
Turco blocked 22 shots and set a team record for most
minutes played, as he lead the Dallas Stars to a 5-1
victory over Calgary on Friday night to stretch their
home unbeaten streak to a franchise record to 13 games
10-0-3.
Rhett Warrener's goal in the second period sliced
the Dallas lead to 2-1.
Turco made saves after saves to win his 31st game.
Marty Turco posted a career high, he has now played
3,749 minutes for this season, rolling over Ed Belfour's
record, 3,689 in the 2000-2001 season.
The Calgary Flames Shean Donovan was allowed a
penalty shot at the 17:30 mark of the second period
with Calgary falling behind a goal. During the penalty
shot, Donovan tried to make some moves by the net,
but lost control of the puck, and Turco took control
of it.
Mike Modano, Pierre Turgeon and Jason Arnott all
had a goal and an assist for the Stars. Mike Modano
scored his 13th of the season, Turgeon has his 9th
and Arnott with his 17th.
Rob DiMaio and Brenden Morrow posted up third-period
goals on the boards for Dallas.
Dallas has one more and final meeting this season
with the Calgary Flames. Dallas has won 3 out of
4, and if they win the final meeting on Mon, Mar
22 8:00PM they will complete a season sweep with
Calgary.
Dallas has now pulled within just four points of
the first seed in the west, the San Jose Sharks.
Dallas will finish their home games on Sunday against
San Jose and will continue on a four game road trip,
including the following matchups, @ Pittsburgh-Tue,
Mar 9 6:30PM, @ Philadelphia- Thu, Mar 11 6:00PM,
@ Detroit-Sat, Mar 13 2:00PM, @ Chicago Sun, Mar
14 2:00PM. Then the Stars will have three games
at home, and yet then continue on another 4 game
road trip.
The Stars cashed in on a two-man advantage at 13:16
of the first period when Modano scored from the
top of the right circle.
The San Jose Sharks are comming off a major loss
from the 2nd seed in the west on Friday night by
a 5-1 Colorado Avalanche win.
Joe Sakic had a goal and two assists and Milan
Hejduk added a goal and an assist for the Avs. Sakic
now has four goals and three assists in the past
two of his games. Steve Moore and Peter Worrell
also posted goals up and John-Michael Liles held
two assists for Colorado.
Colorado registerd two goals in the second. Alex
Tanguay skated in alone on Nabokov to score at 5:20.
David Aebischer stopped 28 shots, saw a total of
29, but the only goal to run past the goaltender
was from Alexander Korolyuk.
Colorado has 34 wins 16 losses 12 ties 5 overtime
losses and 85 points.
San Jose has 33 wins 17 losses 11 ties 6 overtime
losses and 83 points.
The First seed in the west, which is Detroit has
39 wins 17 losses 9 ties 2 overtime losses and a
high 89 points and they look to extend their points
to 91 when they the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday.
