The DeKalb School System Police Department consists of sixty-nine experienced officers hired from throughout the state of Georgia. These officers are commonly known as School Resource Officers. Forty-seven of the officers were placed in all middle schools and high schools in DeKalb County. Seven officers are known as School Detectives and are assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. The remaining officers are either Night Administrators that handle after school hours incidents or Supervisors.These officers make up a strong comprehensive approach to crime in one of the largest school systems in Georgia.
