We have just finished with our interview with AZ Underground.  This should be out around the second week in August.  Lately, we have been at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences to record all of the cover songs that we like to play.  The DSC has also submitted the "Bloody Knuckle Blues" for consideration on the second AZPUNK.COM compilation.  We have a few shows lined up, so scroll down for the latest shows.

history

Ahh... the DSC.  The DSC started informally in '97 when Ryan and Eric Zellmer started to pick up instruments.  Ryan jumped on guitar while his brother Eric took up the drums.  A lifelong friend and neighbor, Curt Engbring, picked up the bass and the three went on the lengthy process of learning their respective instruments.  In the early days the DSC was "Graveyard Shift" until another friend, Ed Kearns, called us the Drug Store Cowboys.  The Drug Store Cowboys stuck - what better name for three  crazy punks burning up in Litchfield Park?  However, after realizing that there are three other Drugstore Cowboys in the world, the band opted for the DSC, rather than something less heartfelt.  The three member DSC would play at high school parties in the desert for free beer.

In the year 2000 the DSC enlisted the vocal talent of Joe Asselin, another Litchfield kid who also knew how to play the trumpet and the guitar.  Joe only sang at first but started to pick up his guitar again after getting tired of just standing and singing.  This would mark the formal and final form of the DSC.  The DSC truly unleashed themselves for their first public appearance on April 12, 2002 at the Mason Jar in Phoenix.  From that point the DSC has continued to rock out the Phoenix/Tempe scene and has been seen at local venues such as the Bash on Ash, Club Evolution and The Big Fish Pub, to name a few.  Check the shows listing to find current show dates.
