Reflections on a Northern Lake

a symmetry not quite perfect
  reflects a twilight's dream --
a water blanket reaches for a moon
   newly-clothed--dressed up for you . . .

crickets and loons compete for attention --
    chasing away a lonely despair,
      as paddles dip silently
        in a fresh approach to love . . .

 a teasing, dewy mist dissipates
the end of a new embrace,
barely shimmering in a vibrancy untouched --
   new day on a northern lake . . .
