Friend

  incessant returns fail to diminish
wonders of a place always newly met--
shining light through a novel prism
    and refracting another dance
        through meaning freely offered,
          churning with a wibbly wobbly desire . . .

writing a tarka poem on a skyful Saturday
       a lifetime or two ago,
with a yearning to conquer the quest
long enough to savour a breath
and maybe steal a satin embrace
              from a beautiful dutiful scribe
not afraid yet to be a friend . . .
