Algebra 1 Part 1
1st Quarter Project:
BIRTHDAYS OF FAMOUS MATHEMATICIANS
                 What does Mr. G want?

STEP ONE:  Choose mathematician. Confirm with Mr. G
   by Wed 12 Sep 2001.

Find a famous mathematician who was born on your birthday. If there
is more than one student sharing the same birthday, an alternate date
   may be assigned.

DEADLINE ONE:  Find sources, submit paper copies
   by Fri 21 Sep 2001.

Since your final project will be submitted by computer disk or e-mail,
using the Internet would be easiest from the start; however, you may
use books to find information -- but make sure that you get the necessary
information from a book (title, author, publisher, year) before you turn
the book back in. Whatever sources you find and plan to use, turn in
a printout or photocopy of all pages. Make sure that you have the exact
Internet address for every webpage ("yahoo.com" and similar search
   engines don't count).

DEADLINE TWO:  Submit disk or e-mail with photo, quotation,
and summary by Fri 05 Oct 2001.

What does Mr. G want in the finished project?:
___ Picture of the mathematician in a  .jpeg  or .gif  file.
___ A quote from him/her that you find funny or thought-provoking.
___ A 100-150 word summary of the most important things to know
                    about this mathematicians.
