WELCOME

Welcome to my website, my name is Bryan Cannon and this site is dedicated to the dreamcatchers I make. The beading takes about 4 hours from start to finish.  There will be more on display in the near future, but the ones shown here will give you an idea of my quality and designs.  My dreamcatchers have been displayed on walls, windows, rear view mirrors and in keeping with tradition, have been hung over the beds of both children and adults.

Dreamcatchers are believed to trap bad dreams that are floating in the air, much the same way a spider web catches insects.  The Ojibwe were one of the first First Nations peoples to design dreamcatchers and were used to ensure good dreams to those that sleep under them.

A dreamcatcher is usually hung over a place of rest and located in a spot where the first rays of morning sunshine can touch it.  While you sleep, every dream must first pass through the dreamcatcher, but only the good dreams can pass through the hole in the centre.  The bad dreams are caught in the web and destroyed by the morning light.
