YUGI
Young Yugi Mutoh was born to play duel monsters. While his fellow students at Domino High School may only see him as the shy quiet type, Yugi's closest friends, Joey, Tristan, and Téa know his secret talent. As Yugi was growing up his Grandfather gave him an ancient Egyptian artifact, the Millenium Puzzle, to solve. Legend has it who ever manages to solve this anicent puzzle will recieve dark and mysterious powers. Yugi eventually solves the puzzle and when he does he transforms into Yami Yugi. Yugi himeslf does not know the full extent of his new found powers.Yugi Mutoh was destined to play duel monsters. He is the silent type at Domino High School but his friends Tristan, Joey and Tea know about his special skills. A couple of Yugi was given an ancient Egyptian artifact to solve. Legend has it that who ever solves this puzzle will be given dark and mysterious powers. Finally Yugi is able to solve the puzzle and instantly he became Yami Yugi, gaining great power and skill. However Yugi still does not know the limit his Millenium Puzzle’s powers and it’s link to ancient Egypt.

Yami Yugi
When the Millenium Puzzle activates Yugi is filled with dark mystical powers transforming him into Yami Yugi. Yami Yugi is his more powerful alter ego with much more self-confidence and courage. Yami is a master duelist who truly believes in the “heart of the cards”.

Joey Wheeler
Joey Wheeler was once a smart talking bully who picked on little kids for amusement. But one day Yugi defended Joey even after Joey teased him harshly and took many punches for him. After that Joey and Yugi became close friends. Even though Joey may be hotheaded sometimes he is always a loyal friend and would do anything for them. Joey duels for his sister, Serenity.

Tristan Taylor
Tristan and Joey met Yugi on the same day. Though they disagree with one another sometimes they are always there for each other. Tristan also cheers for his friends and will do anything for them.

Tea Gardner
Tea and Yugi have been close friends since childhood. She constanly Yugi and Joey in their duels telling them never to give up and to always belive in themselves. She loves her friends very much and has complete faith in them.

Grandpa
All throughout his life Yugi’s Grandpa has traveled the world. Now he owns the neighborhood Gaming shop. Grandpa has learned all there is to know about games and has become a great duelist himself. Grandpa has always taught Yugi to believe in the “heart of the cards.”
