If you've seen the documentary Paradise Lost or its sequel, you're familiar with this case. It's the true and tragic story of the murder of three young boys and the further tragedy of the miscarriage of justice that followed. This case really hits home for me, since Damien Echols, the man who is currently on death row as a result of this case, was convicted on evidence as damning as having long black hair, listening to heavy metal, wearing black t-shirts and a trenchcoat, and having interest in Wicca. Oh, yes, and his name is Damien -- obviously something must be wrong with him. Check out the site. It is an amazing collection of documents that shows just how badly our system can fail and how we can try to fix it. It is especially imprtant now, as new evidence has been discovered that hopefully will free them ... but only with the support of many of us will it happen!
