Welcome!
Often when I travel I'm asked if I would be prepared to share music education processes and the music I use. I'm certainly happy to share my ideas, if you think they're relevant to your setting.  Contained within these pages are some ideas and suggestions which might be helpful in planning lessons and programs. They're not necessarily intended to be any more than that - simply ideas... NOT extensive lesson plans.

Unfortunately though I can't always share the music I present. I have permission only to use it in the context of my own work here in the Northern Territory. If it is somebody else's intellectual property then  we need to acknowledge that and compensate the owners of the copyright and performance rights. If the music is my own I'll share it provided it is used discriminately in education settings.

Where I've suggested music here I may offer sources. If I don't, I suggest you do a web search to find out how it can be accessed. Click on 'home' here, or to the right of the menu bar above, to take you to my home site. Here I have links to the excellent ABC Song Web Pages. There's an almost overwhelming range of songs and musical genres there. The lower menu bar offers some thoughts about music education generally. It is my intention to update this website as regularly as my other commitments will allow. Your ideas and suggestions, in the form of constructive feedback are always welcome.

Dr Bob Smith.
