First, I've been an USCF Master about 29 years, FIDE FM for 16 years, and ICCF IM for a long time (I've forgotten how long on that one!?). Over many of those years I faithfully played the Bird's Opening and Dutch Defense. In both cases I play what would be called the classical formations. I've experimented with the Balogh Counter Gambit, Latvian Gambit, and French Defense in answer to 1 e4.
In recent years, in my older age, I have started playing classical openings with less sharp tactics. In turn, I am willing to share my old analysis on these openings. One side benefit of being a postal chess player, I've kept rather detailed records of my old opening analysis. I think you will find the analysis quite original. Enjoy!
