| FANFICTION TERMS: AR (Alternate reality): You tweak (change) the reality of a character so it can fit more to your purpose. (Ex: You make Yolie an American or Joe not a digi-destine). AR has a lot to do with if you want to make the characters older than they are in the series. Angst/Dark: Tragedy, tragedy, and tragedy! Not for those that want a good laugh . . . unless you have a dark sense of humor. AU (Alternative Universe): Where you take a character and put him/her in a different universe than s/he is in the anime. This could be just tweaking his/her universe a little bit, as with AR, but AU is more like putting TK and Davis in, say, Gundamn Wing. Crossover: Where you take a character from another anime, book, movie, etc. and put them in another anime, movie, etc. This has to be an AR or AU. Death: ;_; It explains itself . . . Fluff: Ooo, I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!! *kissy, kissy, kissy!* You get it. Or it could be just really, really cute. Hentai: Pervert!! Yeah, it basically means someone does pervert things or thinks them, to the least. Humor: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Interactive: That's the kind where you write it in third-person view (Ex: You did this.) Then you have some options at the end, pick one, and continue the story. I have one going right now under Fun Corner if you want a better explanation. Lemon: Sex scenes that give you details! Lime: Sex scenes that give you even more details! Pairings: Couples, basically. Ex: TK and Kari, Davis and Ken, Mimi and Sora, Tai and Cody, etc. Usually written as PersonXPerson. POV: Point Of View. Written in first-person view. PWP: Plot? What Plot? A mindless fic usually dealing with fluff and humor. OOC: Out Of Character. When you make people do things that they usually wouldn't do or say or think. Such as Ken running around in a pink dress singing "It's a Small World." Slash: The western word for yoai and yuri. See those for more explanation. Shounen ai: Male/male relationships that most of the time has to do with sex. Shoujo ai: Female/female relationships that most of the time has to do with sex. Waff: This stands for the words "warm and fuzzy feeling". Romance, endearments, cuteness, etc. Sap: Aw, I know you can do better!! I'll stand by you; I love you! *dripping with goodness* Spoilers: Things you're not meant to know if you're unfamiliar with the series in question. ^_^ Omake/Parody: Usually means wicked fanfiction writers poking fun at the poor characters. Tag team: Where you start a fic and friend of yours picks it up and then passes it on to another friend, so on and so on until it comes back to you. It can really be with just two people, but there can be as many people as you wish. Vignette: A short POV of one particular character in your fanfic. Yaoi: Male/male relationships, but doesn't always have sex involved. Yuri: Female/female relationships, but doesn't always have sex involved. |
