THE CLUB
Currently celebrating fourteen years in existence, Rebels Associated is one of the oldest Star Wars fan clubs in the Rocky Mountain area. The club is based in Salt Lake City, but its members come from as far as Provo, Utah and Preston, Idaho.

ACTIVITIES
Club activities are often held at members' homes. We have fun with Star Wars trivia, discussing new movies and books, trading memorabilia and watching Star Wars, George Lucas, and Sci-Fi and Fantasy related movies and television shows.
Members have participated in special events like Star Wars Days. A partnership with local Media Play and Wal*Mart stores, Star Wars Days gave members an opportunity to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters, promote new Star Wars merchandise and answer questions about the movies through Q & A sessions and trivia games. These events included charity fundraising opportunities through auctions of Star Wars memorabilia.
Members also participate in promos at local theaters when Star Wars movies are released. Rebels Associated members, dressed as characters from the movie, entertain movie-goers as they wait in line. The promos for the Special Editions of the Classic Star Wars trilogy were also fund raising events for the Utah Arthritis Foundation.
A yearly event is "Life, the Universe, and Everything", a Science Fiction & Fantasy Symposium at Brigham Young University's campus. Rebels Associated members discuss Star Wars with other attendees and answer questions about upcoming Star Wars movies and books. This free conference has brought in Star Wars authors such as Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta, and representatives from Industrial Light and Magic.
CONduit, a local Science Fiction/Fantasy convention, is another chance for club members to wear their Star Wars costumes and talk about Rebels Associated. Club members take part in Star Wars discussion panels and meet Star Wars celebrities. Past Star Wars panel subjects have included "The Hierarchy of Star Wars Villains", "Star Wars Creatures" and interactive lightsaber dueling demonstrations. Past Star Wars celebrities have been authors Timothy Zahn, Michael Stackpole, Dave Wolverton, Terry Brooks, and R.A. Salvatore.
Of course, whenever Star Wars celebrities pass through our area, members have had the chance to meet and visit with them. In 1999 Rebels Associated was thrilled to visit with Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels.
