Be dead still when lying in wait for the enemy. The careful win over the reckless.

Attack when the enemy is unprepared. Attack at night. Do not attack strong warriors. Do not fall for baited traps.

Even in safe areas, change your plans and timetables to avoid treachery.

When making plans for an attack, look at your strength and weakness. Look at your enemy’s method of making war. Avoid his strength and exploit his weakness.

When estimating a situation in planning a attack, look for the most relevant point in the situation. This could a key to victory.

When moving through enemy territory, keep your mouth shut and eyes open. Also keep your mouth wet and your feet dry. When anxious your mouth becomes dry. Making spit will keep you calm
