Are Lia & Lutik kept separate from Ping Ping & Kanook? Do Polar Bears Really eat Peanut Butter Sandwiches? Are there any interactive opportunities with Polar Bears? I've heard that Dreamworld's Tigers are walked around the park; does Seaworld walk the Polar Bears around the park? How do the bears survive the hot and humid Gold Coast weather? Are Lia & Lutik kept sperate from Ping Ping and Kanook? At the moment yes. In time they will be introduced to Kanook, in the hope of stimulating her maternal nature. The cubs will never meet Ping Ping, as he may be aggressive towards the cubs. Do Polar Bears Really eat Peanut butter sandwiches? Yes, the Bears at Polar Bear Shores DO eat peanut butter sandwiches, but only as a special treat. Are there any interactive opportunities with Polar Bears? No. Polar Bears are highly dangerous, and are not friendly towards strangers. I've heard that Dreamworld's Tigers are walked around the park; does Seaworld walk the Polar Bears around the park? Again, because of the aggressive nature of Polar bears, allowing them to interact with people would be highly unsafe. How do the bears survive the Hot and Humid Gold Coast weather? Polar Bear Shores is strategically designed to keep temperatures down, from misters, to chilled water, to wind generators. All of these features keeps Polar Bears about 10 degrees below the temperature of the surrounding area. Even in the heat of summer, this makes Polar Bear Shores comparable weather wise, to the Artic Tundra during summer. The Bears also have air-conditioned dens, which makes life very comfortable. |
