Our Special Dove
Leslie "Les" Ledford
September 11, 1967 - September 22, 2003
I have created this site to be able to have something to do for the memory of my brother.  Leslie Ledford was born Sept. 11, 1967 and was murdered Sept. 22, 2003. He had just turned 36 eleven days before. He was very loved by his family and many friends. If you ever asked Les to come over and help you do anything - he would do his best to be there.

It is difficult to go through each day - looking around the house at things he helped with, things he gave you, and then the photos and plants that you have to remind you that it is all real. I can still hear my brother telling me "Love ya sis" whenever we would get off the phone. I still remember the hugs he would give me each time he left. The pain I know will ease up but the sorrow will always be there.

Leslie loved animals especially his pet doves and his dog Woody "WooWoo".  Woody also left us the day after Les did.

On Sept. 22, 2003, Leslie was over at a friends house where he was shot and then his body was burnt in a garbage hole behind the house. (I can't say much more due to the investigation). Although, this has been horrific for us to deal with we know there are others who share in our grief and have the pain that we all go through.

Unfortunately, it is an ongoing thing from day to day for others to have to go through. My thoughts are with others as I know theirs are with us.

I have written a few poems in memory of my brother and sure there will be more when I am able. I would like to share them with you. Please click on the links to the left.

We love and miss you very much Les!
